Shawt Week

This week! How a four-day work-week could be this long I don’t know, but for those keeping score at home, I’d like to share some bizarre things that crossed my path (or my mind) this week.

1. The rise of Ke$ha has subjected me to near-constant hearings of Flo Rida’s not-very-good-follow-up-to-Low “Right Round”. Thank$

2. After countless emails back and forth surrounding the moving of a single’s release date, and my frustration mounting, my local nursery emailed to ask if I’d like to save 50% on ornamental kale. Why yes! Yes I do!

3. Murphy’s Law in action - the first absolutely gorgeous weekend in forever? Yeah, that’s the one where the Little Man gets sick.

4. Apparently to qualify for a Latin Grammy, your single must say “Version en Espanol” rather than “Spanish Version”. And this caused me a full day of communication/heartache.

5. My radio habits and driving habits aligned this week. The same songs played in the same places (no joke). Radio geography - “Down” by Jay Sean at the intersection before Whole Foods. “Use Somebody” by Kings of Leon at the intersection before LM’s school. “Already Gone” by Kelly Clarkson while entering 635. That “Shawty’s like a melody” song on the street leading to Lowe’s.

6. Can someone explain what a “shawty” is? Is it “shorty”? Please help me understand.

7. After discovering Just Jared Jr. (the online generation’s version of Tiger Beat), I then discovered the errors in the Dallas Symphony’s online strategy. Following a story on Taylor Lautner’s inclusion in the Celebrity Super Bowl, I was presented an ad for the DSO store and tickets. Maybe they got the geographical targeting right, but demographic? Uh…

8. Yes, it is possible for someone to be THAT annoying.

9. Toddlers will drink their medicine if it’s presented in the Little Cup.

10. I learned that you take Las Palmas to Colorado to Pico to get to Llama School.

Happy weekend, Shawties!
